Our very own Think Exist! site

Hello everyone,

Welcome to e-Learning week - an exciting week, not least because we all don't have to be in campus this week. Where we can all get that much-needed breather (yay), and spend some quality time away from school while we take stock of all the valuable things we have learnt so far, especially on your favourite subject - CRS!

The good news is, even though we are not required to be in class, the thinking and learning still go on.

As they say, life still goes on. Thus, the lessons are still on. Just that, they are conducted online.

So here goes...

In our CRS classes, I've stressed and stressed again on the need to read and think critically. Develop an inquisitive mind. Ask questions. Probe issues. Evaluate everything you read, everything you are told, everything spoonfed to you. Be critical. Be creative. Think. Don't just follow... Well, you get the message.

For this e-Learning week, we move ahead on this very same basic principle and message in our CRS classes.

We need to continue to think critically and ask questions.
That is the main reason for this newly-created blog. I wanted to name this blog 'Think Exist!' but for some reason, this blogname was disallowed. Hence, the 'more thinking, more learning' blogname.

In this blog, our lessons on Thinking Critically continues. Each of you are a member of a group, in your respective classes. And each group has creatively come up with very interesting, some controversial, issues for all of us to think about, evaluate our responses, and subsequently put our thoughts on paper. (in this case, on the www).

I've put up these issues on this blog, and invite everyone of you to post comments. Everyone. Preferably, on every single issue posted here. (the minimum is 5 comments, to allow me to assess you fairly on your ability to think critically).

Like any healthy debate, there are some rules to this online class debate. But they are simple rules of engagement.

The rules are:
Be concise.
To the Point.
Comprehensible. (Can be readily understood)
Acknowledge (name) yourself at every comment. (if not I can't mark you!)
Be fair.
And most importantly, be civil, not rude (every crude, racist, seditious or potentially slanderous comment will be immediately removed and earn you a demerit point).

With these, I hereby open the blog to your valued comments.

Enjoy yourselves!
